You’ve Got Questions - We've Got Answers

HOW DO I ACCESS CARE AFTER HOURS?

To contact us out of hours, call the practice 03 302 8105 and choose option 2. This will connect to our nurse triage service. The nurse will give appropriate advice and may call the on call clinician if required. The on-call clinician (doctor or nurse) then arranges the next steps for that patient’s care.

The next steps may be a phone consultation with the patient, an immediate or delayed face to face consult with the patient, or an immediate referral to hospital.

We share our out of hours cover with Rakaia Medical Centre.

IF I AM SICK CAN I BEEN SEEN TODAY?

Please keep your phone handy if you are on the Triage list.

WHAT IS THE TRIAGE NURSE?

A Registered nurse who can answer clinical questions, offer advice and take a brief history of your symptoms and concerns.  If an appointment is needed they will arrange the right time and place.
